DATA & STATISTICS
Data drives policy.
COVID-19 data & statistics have evolved since the beginning of the pandemic.
Intelligently arm yourself with sound principles for deriving and interpreting statistics:
ACTUAL DATA
Confirmed recorded cases & deaths for COVID-19 and other diseases
Daily Updates of Totals
by Week & State
Prior Year Totals
by Week & State
Question: What are TOTAL ALL CAUSE death counts year-over-year by month? This will demonstrate the severity of Coronavirus:
Click on the FILTER tab, then select SORT & ROLL-UP on the left. Next select JURISDICTION OF OCCURRENCE, MMWR YEAR, MMWR WEEK & ALL CAUSE, then APPLY.
How has COVID Data been skewed?
Not from Colorado? Search by your state name & COVID-19 data.
Google your own county.
Example: Larimer County COVID-19 Deaths or Cases
Deaths lag 2-3 weeks behind cases. If there is no spike in deaths 2-3 weeks after a spike in cases, then why all the panic? Higher cases and lower deaths are a good thing: the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is low; the virus is less fatal!
ESTIMATED DATA
Total cases, hospitalizations and deaths are extrapolated from academic, epidemic modelling, then revised as an epidemic progresses and data becomes available
