Dr. Barke earned his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the University of California, Irvine where he previously served as an Associate Clinical Professor. Dr. Barke earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California. He is a reserve deputy for the Orange County Sheriff's Department, and he serves as a tactical physical on the SWAT team and on the medical unit of the Search & Rescue Team.
